Sembrerà una cosa improbabile ma non è raro che alle band in tour fottano la strumentazione che spesso comprende anche pc e ipod. Ricordo che è successo l'anno scorso ai Pelican a Roma per un concerto di essere svaligiati persino degli Ipod che contenevano gli unici 'rough mix' di pezzi nuovi. La band rilascia un comunicato dettagliato degli strumenti (si sa mai che finiscano ai mercatini domenicali per due lire..) e chiede di donazioni tramite Paypal. La statistica vuole che sia il carico del van dopo il concerto il momento più propizio, la stanchezza è tanta, la gente si ferma a fare complimenti, battere cinque, pure qualche copia da autografare e la distrazione aumenta. Sono spesso band ancora molto DIY che hanno giusto un paio di roadies tutto fare e anche la band stessa da una mano.
Su 'rubare in casa del ladro' vorrei raccogliere questo tipo di episodi a memoria futura di quanto sfigata sia la gentaglia che ci ronza per le orecchie.

Location was just across the highway up the hill and less than a block off Seventh street right by the French Legation Museum wall. All the guitars, snare, cymbals, luggage, a bunch of merch, were stolen out of a car. They broke the window and cleaned us out. We will have a more complete list and all the serial numbers out hopefully soon but for now tell people to keep an eye out for:
Mark’s 2004 Gibson Flying V electric guitar. Alpine white color with custom Gibson “Dirty Fingers” humbucker pickup in the bridge. Guitar has a faded yellowish hue and signs of wear on the top side. Has a black strap with a white lightning bolt on it and the strap is held in place by two rubber o-rings from Grolsch beer bottles.

Nate’s Faded Red Flying V with 2 EMG active pickups, crescent moon inlays on ebony fretboard, dark stain on the front where your arm would be caused by ink and years of playing.

I think they are both guitars are ‘67 reissues and are in SKB ATA cases with B1 and B2 in reflective stickers on the cases.
Darren’s early ’90s G&L SB-2 Bass Serial number B022197. Black with black pick-guard and maple neck. P and Jazz style pickups. Two volume knobs and no pickup selector. Sculpted headstock, no bump, Leo Fender signature on head stock with small notch in the middle. Also a small belt rash chip out of the back paint. Tweed colored Fender strap with three pins on it. Strap held on with red Grolsch beer flip top O-rings.
- Boss TU-2 Tuner Pedal with a rounded elastic band on it.
- Gator Brand ATA molded BPE plastic flight case with B3 in reflective stickers. One says “NO ICE IN MY DRINK.” Also has “Fragile” “VALKYRIE,” “BIBLE OF THE DEVIL,” “Vocalo.org” stickers. Case has name and address on label by the handle. One of the latches is loose and tricky to tighten.
Greg’s Trick Percussion Snare Dark Blue with black hardware. Made from aluminum. In a black snare case that closes with a strap.
